Opening (for The B-52's) was Seattle's The Fabulous Downey Brothers with their Devo-esque, self-described performance of "zolo, new wave, digi punk, art-ernative" music and performance art.

Inspired by the deranged showmanship of high-energy New Wave bands like The Talking Heads, The B-52s and Devo, this seven-person Seattle-based group takes on-stage theatrics to another galaxy. Ornate, handcrafted headpieces, full-body eyeball suits and gratuitous applications of black lipstick are just a few key elements in the Downey Brothers's expansive wardrobe.

When we played on a Metro Bus for Seattle Times:

The Fabulous Downey Brothers were up next, bringing their weird and wonderful brand of…whatever it is you could call what they do. Each keyboard was sporting an identical screen to playback corresponding visuals to each song, which added another element to the already mind-bending aesthetic of this group. It was nice to see that they were on this lineup, after seeing the three music videos that Sean Downey directed for Naked Giants (all of which was amazing, by the way)

The Fabulous Downey Brothers: Hilarious/terrifying (hilarifying!), hard-tripping, Oompa-Loompa/Weird Al/Fred Schneider spazz-core freak pop with a cherry on top.
